Matahari Tulamben Resort, Dive & SPA is a beach front resort and located in the Center of Tulamben Village. The Balinese owners started with the company in 1991. Mrs. Komang Suci together with the senior staff loves to train and educate the young village people and give them jobs.
Tulamben is a small fishing village on the north-east coast of Bali, facing the Lombok Strait. It is among the most popular dive sites on Bali since the wreck of the Liberty, a US Army Transport ship torpedoed by a Japanese submarine in 1942 lies just off shore. During high-season, up to 100 divers descend to the wreck each day.
You find different places for relaxing. Free loungers are waiting for you at the beach, beside the pool, in the garden or at the sun deck from where you also have an amazing view to the Mount Agung and the sea. Or simple use the hammocks in the garden.
Balinese people are in love with kids. Therefore Suci offers free babysitting during your dives. Means your kids are welcome.

Tulamben is internationally renowned for its dive sites and is prized for its easy diving and amazing biodiversity. The USS Liberty shipwreck must be one of the easiest wrecks to access in the world, and underwater creatures ranging from the smallest crustaceans, ghost pipefish, and pygmy seahorse to the largest fish like sharks and mola-mola sunfish abound. Tulamben is a great place for beginners, with a number of sites which are suitable for training dives, fun dives and underwater photography.
Divers occasionally meet mola-mola sunfish, hammerhead sharks and whale sharks in the waters of Tulamben. Its biodiversity and location make Tulamben one of the best dive sites in the world. Complete with its own wreck, the USAT Liberty, which sank in 1963 when Gunung Agung erupted, the easy access to this wreck adds to the village’s charm. The wreck is also home to a group of bumphead parrot fish.
